Operating out of Jandakot Airport, Perth, Western Australia.
Hiring Information

Both Grumman Tigers are available for hiring by non-members pilots at Jandakot Airport. Wet hire rate is currently $160.00 per VDO hour + $16.00 GST = $176.00 per hour (current as at 1 May 2008) plus landing/touch&go fees. If you hire the plane for a long journey and incur costs (such as fuel) elsewhere we will credit to you the fuel at Jandakot rates (see below for an example)

We require that you hold a GFPT or above (PPL/CPL etc.) and have had a check ride on the plane and also meet standard CASA recency requirements.

GERALDTON TRIP (North)

You book an aircraft for 4 days, to fly to Geraldton stay for a few days then fly back. It takes 2 hours to fly to Geraldton, 1.9 hours to get back and you refuelled 70 litres into the plane at $1.12 per litre and paid for it on your own credit card. Jandakot Rates for fuel are $1.00 per litre.

Note, when comparing our aircraft to others, please ensure you include a factor for cruising speed. Our Grummans cruise at around 130 knots when operated at 75% and leaned to best economy. A slightly cheaper hire rate for another type of aicraft may in fact been more expensive for the overall trip due to the increase length of time for the flight.

VDO time is the total time the engine is running, so is from startup to shutdown. Actual flight times are usually 0.2 - 0.3 less per leg due to taxi/runup times.

If you are going to fly regularly around Western Australia, we recommend you become a member of Flight Club, so you can fly at cheaper rates.

For bookings please contact The Aeroplane Company, who will also provide details of recency and familiarisation requirements. You may be required to perform a check flight with them before hiring
