Flight Club - Membership Information

Operating out of Jandakot Airport, Perth, Western Australia.
What is Flight Club?
Flight Club is a membership-based organisation located at Perth, Western Australia that currently has one Grumman Tiger aircraft available for both its members and the flying public. The aircraft are based at Jandakot Airport which is one of Australia's busiest strips. The aircraft are kept at The Aeroplane Company's facilities.

Flight Club was formed to bring people together in a social group to fly. We are seeking new members that want to fly the best single engined aircraft available (yes, we're biased, but we admit it!). Although members are able to fly the aeroplanes at cheaper rates, the real advantages are:
  • Flying aeroplanes that are kept in fantastic condition and where no shortcuts are taken in maintenance, and where owners and users take pride in the upkeep of their aeroplanes
  • Meeting with other pilots that share your love of flying and especially enjoy flying the Grumman Tigers
  • Be part of a group that flies regularly for fun - whether it be a joyride around Perth, to Western Australia's fantastic country regions, airshown fly-ins or jaunts around Australia. There's always something happening.

    Membership Information
  • Full Members - designed for the pilot who flies more than 20 hours per year and/or wants an active role in the ownership of two aeroplanes. We especially encourage student pilots from the GFPT stage onwards as you will save money in the long term from standard commercial hiring.
    Full Members
Full membership provides you with an ownership share of the two aeroplanes, managed under an Australian company structure (Pty Ltd). Each full membership share is $2500. Full members pay $50 + $5.00 GST per month which covers our fixed costs each year (insurance, parking fees and radio inspections). Full members are entitled to vote on all financial/club issues. Full members can fly our aeroplanes at $130 + $13.00 GST = $143.00 per hour plus applicable landing fees. (Current as at 1 May 2008). There are some rules regarding the club and hiring aeroplanes (eg. you can't hire a aeroplane for 6 months and do 3 hours of flying on it!) and these are covered in our service agreement..

What happens if I want to sell my membership?
Flight Club reserves the right to purchase your shareholding back from you if you no longer want to be a shareholder. If Flight Club decides not to exercise this right then you may sell your share to anybody at any price you feel fit. This person would need to agree to the service agreement and before flying they will need to undertake a check flight. Note that until your share is sold, you are still responsible for paying the monthly fee.

Possible places for you to advertise your share include: Classified Adverts (West Australian, Sunday Times, Quokka), Aviation Trader www.aviationtrader.com.au, Notice boards around Jandakot (eg. RACWA, Aviator Cafe), internet discussion groups (AGACF Forums www.agacf.org, aus.avation, aus.ads.forsale) and by word-of-mouth.

    Cross hiring the aeroplanes
You don't need to be a member of Flight Club to hire our aeroplanes. They are available for hire from The Aeroplane Company. For more information on hiring the aeroplanes click HERE.

    What insurance do you have?
Our aeroplanes are insured for damange and loss of $80,000, with 1% excess and a combined $2 million third party legal liability and passenger liability. Our aeroplanes are insured for private airwork and flight training (does not include ab-initio (ie initial) training).
